Frequently asked questions
- Why use rem instead of px inside the CSS clamp() expression?
- Using rem units respects browser accessibility user zoom preferences. If a visually impaired user increases their browser font scale, rem-based clamp expressions scale accordingly, whereas raw px values override user zoom.
- Do fluid type clamp() formulas cause layout shifts (CLS)?
- No. Because clamp() computes deterministically at paint time based on the active viewport dimension, it triggers zero runtime reflows or cumulative layout shifts.
